        @vo1k1: The same technique was used for most of the pieces on this release. I would set up a loop of some length (say four bars) and play one or two notes. Then, listen. Then I'd add another note. And again... Then I'd solo over the result. On Water Against Stone, I enhanced the impression by reversing one note to lead into the phrase and adding the trailing delay.

        @stretta: Thanks for the detailed reply. Methods of construction and arrangement are fascinating to me. Btw, wrt/ mattrick's comment, I see no way of downloading this, here or on your blog - am I missing something (I'd love to have this live on my ipod)?

        @Dave Haynes: Argh. I'm sorry. I Inadvertently deleted your other comment in an attempt to reply. This piece is supposed to end abruptly - it ties the unnatural gating at the beginning.
