I tend to like short pieces. Very nicely done.

I'm assuming the voice was part of the initial intro? If so, it was mixed in very subtly. Bravo.

@nk_e: Yep, layers of voice, then resampled with DubStation. Also, a layer of phase-vocoded piano.

Anywhere you hear reverb (like here) it is Audio Damage Eos

Z3000 sine though the doepfer A-137 wave multiplier to give it some bite.

      great groove!

    2. stretta on June 13, 2009 16:32

@rezzn8r: Thanks! Due to the nature of recording with a modular, there was a lot of track variations all sitting on top of each other, and the editing process revealed, or maybe unearthed, this groove. Sometimes you hear only a single edited 1/8th or 16th note of a track in four measures of audio.

"Boards of Canada" piano soft ambient

This piece is simply piano and voice. It just occurred to me that with both Brood XIV and ATAOIB, there is no MIDI involved at all. Even when I'm using 'electronic' sounds via the modular, I'm performing the lines with the French Connection and capturing the audio directly.

I recorded myself singing last night. I was too lazy to set up a mic stand, and just hand-held the U87 while I recorded. The horror. I haven't sang on a recording since some minor contributions to the Archetribe albums.
