'This is Development' a man cries from the speaker box, above the loud drone of bass and thud of a kick drum, as the screams wail in the background. It's the Development Music Christmas bash and they finally got pigs in blankets. The screams in the background from the neighbours do little to disrupt the pork-filled anarchy.
Alas, the aptly titled compilation of underground electronic soul and deep house was born.
Bringing together 15 tracks old and new from around the world (with a particular focus around the northern half of the UK), 'This is Development' showcases a mixture of styles and tempos all connected by a love of deep electronic music and, erm, pork.
The vinyl sampler brings together 4 of the exclusive new tracks for a limited pre release selection from Turkey's soul-drenched maestro Sarp Yilmaz, Manchester's hottest new prospect Ben Pearce, The True Rebels (Ricky Reid & Peter Oakden) and the unstoppable James Johnston.
