"Streetlab has since built up an impressive set of club-ready remixes from such acts as Crystal Castles, Nine Inch Nails, and Kinski, plus several original grooves of its own."
– Billboard Magazine
"Streetlab is a New York City based electro-rock production duo whose debut single ‘NYSound’ has been featured on HBO’s Entourage and Apple’s iPod/iPhone game, Tap Tap Revenge 2. Find out more about their love/hate relationship with NYC, persistent tardiness, and their dream of sleeping till noon."
"Maybe the Streetlab guys go to parties I don't go to, parties where serpentine bass quashes and jagged electro -house stutter have commandeered the sound of the city that never sleeps, killing classic disco with one blast of a supersonic laser gun."
"Members Cosmo and Ryan base their music on the ability to make rock and dance music the same…so there are no excuses for being a wallflower!"
- URB Magazine
"Google Streetlab and you'll see the funkiest looking listing ever. No, really. Try it! That's just a tiny taste of the creative power that this NYC -based electronic music duo generates."
- Korg Instruments
Fans of rock and dance music alike have New York City duo Streetlab to thank for creating catchy and danceable versions of some of their favorite classic tunes. Influenced by the music scene of the early 90’s, they started remixing classic rock songs to push the boundaries of the electronic music genre - by appealing to both rock-fans and club-goers.
After years of re-inventing songs by artists like The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Hall & Oates, and The Beatles, the pair released NYSound - an original single that gained the support of Europe's BBC Radio1 and NYC-based record label "Downtown Records. Followed up with the blog-heavy single Rat Racer - The boys are now featured on many TV shows and commercials (HBO's Entourage, CSI: NY, MTV's The City) as well as the iPod/iPhone video game Tap Tap Revenge.
After receiving praise from Billboard Magazine and URB Magazine, Streetlab released their debut album Auto Spkr in 2010. The album has that sound we all love, and features vocalists on just about every song. But Streetlab has a noticably different angle on current electronic-dance music - they put more of their strength into the writing of the song over the production. And this lends almost every song of theirs to be catchy as all hell and stretch across more than just one genre.
With newer releases like Passion Pit’s "Sleephead" and after a year of touring, the boys just released Auto Spkr 2.0 - a remix album and follow-up to their debut (2010). They're currently finishing up their next original release, but still pumping out those 'classic rock' song remixes we all love and enjoy (like Foxy Lady, by Jimi Hendrix.)
