Like Alice spiralling down the rabbit hole towards a new reality, Benito's beautifully twisted textures will pull you in and transport you to an imaginary world, riding sparkling waves of arpeggios over rumbling, earthy bass and cavernous, slumping percussion. This Portland-born Aquarius has allied himself with groundbreakers Facemelt_Inc and Frite Nite, and was recently spotlighted by Starkey on his BBC 1xtra "Daily Dose of Dubstep". Influenced in his early years by artists as diverse as Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, Nine Inch Nails, Stevie Wonder and J Dilla, Benito first experimented with production in 1997 and currently crafts with FL Studio and several pieces of classic hardware. Spearheading a popular Oregon-based electronica radio show for four years, he attended the first ever Low End Theory Japan in Tokyo during a modeling stint for Marka Wear and has been playing shows in his current home of San Francisco for the last 3 years, alongside talent like NastyNasty, Ana Sia, Comma, Epcot, Salva, XI, Samples, Low Limit and Mr. Oizo. "Exercise Progression" is a spellbinding selection of treasure handpicked from the vaults of Benito's unique and dark imagination. A soundtrack to a Tim-Burton-directed film noir, a shadowy snapshot of autumn-leaf-littered pavements, this EP is a slow-burning stick of incense with a hypnotic scent. An epic soundscape drawing influence from dubstep, future hip hop and psychedelics, "Exercise Progression" will slowly make its way under your skin and into your heart, growing more addictive with each listen.
