About
Necessity is the father of invention... It is also the father of Straxus.
Stephen Brister became very interested in music at a young age, getting his first acoustic guitar in the third grade. He continued to practice and slave to learn new songs and quench his ever expanding thirst for musical ability. During high school Stephen played with a few a friends but nothing fruitful seemed to come of these jam sessions. That is until he was recruited by The Burnt Fork Experience to give their guitarist some pointers and get them ready for a show. It was easy to see that Stephen was a perfect fit from the moment he walked in the room. Thirty minutes into the session The BFE invited Stephen to join the band and play a show they had scheduled for later that night. Stephen gladly accepted and the show went on.
The BFE would change Stephen's world in many ways, but one of the biggest would be his first foray into music production and recording. After producing The BFE's only album and a single, Stephen headed off to college. While studying at the University of South Alabama, Stephen encountered a problem... There were plenty of musicians but no one to form a structured band with. Having only recently been introduced to the world of electronic music Stephen decided to try his hand at it... and Straxus was born. Feeding of his still never-ending thirst for new musical stylings Straxus bends the borders of standard genres by mixing the unconventional with the unexpected.
