About

Stramonia’s music is full of obscure vital forces, it was born from the need of eradicating from the soul all
the smithereens of pain and suffering that could cause spiritual gangrene.
The demand to express this negative emotions brought the group to life, but it wasn’t the only supporting force: the fundamental past was the will to find a new sound able to satisfy this kind of feelings without leaving aside the most important melodic elements.
The passion for the occult is immediately revealed by the name of the band: “stramonia” comes from the plant “Datura Stramonium”, once used in Europe during witches’ sabbaths in order to get demoniac visions, but it’s widespread in other cultures as well, in order to interact with the world of the dead.
Originally made up of the Arata’s brothers (Roberto playing the guitar and Federico singing), they are soon joined by Daniele Schenone (keyboards) and Fabio Di Capita (drums).
Energetic melodic lines and granitic riffs, along with double pedal drumming and a versatile voice that goes from a clean sound to growl make every track unique and raise the interest of the listener.
Stramonia sound is classical heavy metal with some distinctive features, such as horror-gothic keyboards.
Every song has its specific theme (terrible beasts, dark passion, social critics, personal experiences, ecc) but they all take from that dark side that lurks inside everyone and that can come out from time to time.
