22 La Cumbia Es Un Tango - El Hijo De La Cumbia - I have no answer to why the accordion-centric Freestyle De Ritmo album on Soot was overlooked. This track has the X Files theme fer chrissakes, I don't even like the X Files, love this though. Proper originator. Thanks for your ears if you've made it this far....

21 Murda Sound vs. El General (MushUp NiceNoise) - Dj NiceNoise - Like this geezers stuff a lot and I always have a fondness for anything El General related, move it indeed. This is one of a few tracks I had level issues with and decided rather have dynamics than squishyness though I did give the whole thinga light dusting with Final Plug..blah blah. KIller tune!

20 Ze Bula (Chancha Vía Circuito remix) - Figura - HAD to be some Chancha Via Circuito or Universildo on here, the man's a Don. If you don't own the Rodante album on ZZK, what are you waiting for??

19 Aguita - Bazuko Digital - More meaty goodness from the Asaduki comp, did I mention I liked that? I think we've got the picture now, repair yourshelf to Hipi Duki Muzik forthwith.

18 Mueve - Lido Pimienta - Undeniably amongst my favourite tunes of '09 this does the soulful horns thing like a bazooka laying waste to a BBQ. I could listen to this all day..Brilliant! This voice will be heard loud and clear in 2010 or there will be eating of chapeaus.

17 Humano (Sonora remix) - Lido Pimienta - Hmmm .. one of my favourite emerging artists with one of my fave emerging producer, very simple mathematics. This is a perfectly balanced treatment to an acapella that is stunning in itself. Not big things, huge things!

16 Confort - Sonido Desconcido - Once again a doff of the titfer or a klip of the Kangol to the mighty Generation Bass for hipping me to this Mexican magnificence. Their II album is available for free download if you use your nous and follow their myspace page, this is on there, and some other ripe juicy treats. This track sends shivers down my spine, nuff said.

15 Borracho Y Despeinao - Doma Tornados - Mr Doma Tornados has been very generous with his tunes to me and I've loved 'em all. However I can't get past this, the one that introduced me to his relentlessly untypical and genre free gear. Name for the future, album on the way.

14 Lamento en el norte (Todo sigue igual) - Joel & Rebenga - Another tune that has haunted my metaphorical crates and sets like the proverbial bad smell. Nearly had to use restraints to stop myself heading off on a Chicha tip here but it would be a two hour mix then and that's somewhat impractical. Genius tune.

13 Del Gusto por Sonido Changorama - Sonido Changorama - Shamefully this is a 128kbps file that I shouldn't really even have in my Traktor collection but how are you going to deny something like this? Crazy talk.

12 La Inconformable - The Binary Cumbia Orchestra - Well you wouldnt want to argue with Warrior Queen would you. A squelchsterpiece in the bass department this jaunty little pumper signals another gear. Don't know jack about the Binary Orchestra but I suspect that will be rectified very soon.
