About
Sterling Moss is best known for his three deck wizardry, complete with FX units and drum machines, bringing together a cutting edge fusion of tough grooves in an explosive dj mix. Globetrotting from destinations such as: North America, South America, Japan, Holland, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Austria, France, Portugal, Latvia, Poland, Croatia, Malta & Ireland, playing alongside the worlds dj elite, as well as having held a 6 year residency with the formidable Dancevalley/HQ in Holland which has hosted dance giants such as Carl Cox, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Jeff Mills. After playing headline slots next to Dave Clarke at a 25,000 capacity Impulz show in Holland, or playing the main stage at Argentinas Energy Parade hosted by Westbam to a crowd of 100,000, Sterling has certainly shown he is a dj force to be reckoned with.
On the production front, as well as running his 'Sound Lab' studio, Sterling is also an official programmer for Roland Synthesisers, having worked extensively on their MC-909 projects after they were impressed with his use of their vintage TR-909 drum machine. Moss also found UK chart success with the techno anthem R.E.S.P.E.C.T., which appeared on the Nukleuz DJ Nation Bootleg Edition and reached 33 in the UK national charts alongside the likes of Robbie Williams and Eminem! Coupling this with underground credibility such as a collaboration for Apex Recordings finding its way onto Carl Cox's U60311 mix album, as well as releases on a huge range of labels including: Stay Up Forever, RAW, Hardasfunk, Neuroshocked, Polymeric, Apex, Hellhouse, Nukleuz, Powertools, One Inch, Rotters Golf Club, Yolk, Cluster, No Entry, Strata, Carbon Audio, Maximum Minimum, Hive & Torque, it is apparent that Sterling's cutting edge fusion of musical genres has helped to push the perceptive boundaries of musical categories, and to intercept the barriers between scenes, making him a true leader in the future of the global dance scene.
As well as running his own record labels, Racetrax & Bodyshock, Sterling has also worked extensively with event organisers in London helping promote the clubnights 'Tribal' & 'Laboratory', culminating in Laboratory's sell-out 4,500 capacity Brixton Academy show being a massive success.
Moss also holds an executive seat in ‘The Boardroom’ collective, recording under the alias ‘E.S.C.’ alongside Pingmonster. Their work has seen it’s way onto two highly acclaimed collaborative albums with Andrew Weatherall, which include E.S.C.'s remix of Weatherall’s ‘Two Lone Swordsmen’ in return for Andrew’s remix of ‘The Legacy’. The collective's live act has seen them feature at some of the world's best venues including London's 'Fabric' & Berlin's 'Panorama Bar'.
With years of experience behind him already, Sterling is not only an established DJ, producer and promoter, but the full impact and extent of his talents are yet to come, with a constant desire to push his performance forward technically, to a level no DJ has yet reached, blending production and DJing into a more live based environment. Sterling has the basis to help to shape the future world of dance with his expression of tribal beats, seamless progression and slamming sounds, this is one DJ whose music holds no boundaries, one whose unique abilities, taste and musical upbringing allows a free range of creativity behind the decks and in the studio, and a flexibility to breathe further life into the dance scene.
