Steptech, aka Mat Lee, has been in the music scene for just over two years now. It all started when he borrowed a copy of FL Studio from one of his good friends and started to mess around making simple beats and sounds. He then started to study different kinds of music and eventually fell in love with the complex, broken beats, and rhythmic sounds of electronic music. While working at the local climbing gym, he met Patrick Mcgeath, aka Dirt Monkey, and after getting a copy of Ableton, Dirt Monkey took him under his wing and gave him a crash course in production.

It started to take off from there, his first release was on DZ's Badman Press as a single on a free christmas album. After several free singles, his collaboration with Dirt Monkey was released on Rottun Records. He had also won a remix competition for RUN DMT, and that release is TBA. Mat has been playing at different venues in the Boulder and Denver area and was taken on by Clockwork Crew last year. Steptech's unique sound has carved its way into the Boulder and Denver scene, and he is surely a producer to keep an eye on in the future. Support from: RUN DMT, Dirt Monkey, Ishe, DZ, Thorazine, DJ SnipaZ, Dodger, Rodway, KHoff, Supreme, Dubspec, Willy Whompa, just to name a few.
