cool bandpassy sound - really electric sounding :)

    2. stephen roche on July 20, 2009 23:31

@raytrace: its a resample of massive with crayon filter on it and a pile of fx.

    3. @stephen roche: sounds very clean i Like that tic tac tic tac sound ...

    4. stephen roche on July 21, 2009 18:24

@Eugene X: cheers its just a random perc hit with a resonator, reverb and some grain delay and stereo delay.

    5. raytrace on July 21, 2009 20:52

@stephen roche: Crayon filter is such a simple and great sounding plugin and free obviously too...

    6. stephen roche on July 21, 2009 21:39

@raytrace: yeah theres a really nice sound from it even its just set at default and not really filtering i think it gives stuff a bigger sound.

nice tune stevo - I'd maybe try condense the track to around 6.30 if its poss - 8.30 is quite long. if you were to add it to your set and you only had around 45 mins - you can fit too much in there - goo work tho ;)

    2. stephen roche on July 24, 2009 14:44

@DJ OBese: nice one barry,it still needs a bit of work too.

    1. unsaturated on April 09, 2009 20:36

You lost me just a bit in here, the arrangement is good, but nothing is quirky enough to add the necessary tension. It ends up sounding too professional.

    2. stephen roche on April 09, 2009 23:54

@unsaturated: im open to any suggestions you might have.

    3. The Observer on April 10, 2009 13:56

@stephen roche: Hmm but i like it, good synth melodies her steph ;-)

    4. unsaturated on April 10, 2009 21:47

@stephen roche: So I'm no pro, my opinion may be bullocks :D Maybe consider adding just a tad of distortion to your stabby synth to warm it up. Also, instead of doing the crash cymbal, consider some other device like a chopped bounce or some reverse hits for a nice turnaround. You might consider creating a nearly duplicate synth patch with some unsustainable gimmick (like a reversed sample of a synth hit) and switching to play the main synth line on that for like one note while everything else drops away.

i think that filter sounds grand meself - id maybe slow it down a bit - or is that u think it wasnt 'changing' enuff at slower speeds

deadly bleepy noise there - was that purely wave editing based?

    2. stephen roche on February 09, 2009 23:54

@raytrace: its orca, bringing the cut off,res and detuning up then then dropping the cut off back down.

    3. raytrace on February 10, 2009 01:43

@stephen roche: cool - I'll always forget about that VST

i really like the off beat stab thingies - remind me in timing of the classic 'My Sound' -wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh (youknowwotimean ;) )

    2. stephen roche on February 09, 2009 23:55

@raytrace: thas what i wanted but couldnt get the sample so that will have to do.

    3. raytrace on February 10, 2009 01:44

@stephen roche: I have it pretty much on its own except for a breakbeat somewhere - usable I think - cant bloody remember what it was though :s

Really like your basslines. Out of interest what synth are you using? Sounds very 'real' and analogue...

    2. stephen roche on March 29, 2009 17:43

@Semtek: cherrs man,i usually try use different synths for different tunes.this one was made with albino 3.its got a really nice sound to it.

like the almost nasal sound there - maybe if you used that filter in the bit earlier on - it sounds more intense I think

    2. stephen roche on February 09, 2009 23:59

@raytrace: its the same filter im using there as before.i might just adjust the res on the other one.

    3. raytrace on February 10, 2009 01:44

@stephen roche: yeh it sounds great I think
