About

Beginning his musical endeavours on drums, Brendan Daw (AKA StatiK) was heavily involved in the hardcore rock scene throughout his early years, sharing the stage with names like Protest The Hero, Rosesdead, The Gorgeous, and Closet Monster. Electronic dance music had always been a passion of his, and after discovering the world now broadly known as bass music, making the leap from his heavy rock roots was a no-brainer.

Often labeled as “chillstep”, StatiK combines elements of dubstep, house, and electro with the influences of his laid back lifestyle to create a danceable sound that still holds strong with the bedroom listeners. He has now set his sights on perfecting fresh original material, and while musical quality is always the top priority, filling the dance floors isn’t too far down the list for this up and coming producer/DJ. A few recent highlights have included opening for World DMC Champion DJ Dopey, along with heating up the crowd for talented Toronto duo, Dzeko & Torres.
