As recently as the 1950s, members of the Wanapum Tribe of Eastern Washington were still living as their ancestors had when Lewis and Clark came through the region. But, because of growing electricity needs, the local public utility district put together a plan to build dams that would flood the ground where the Wanapum spent the winter. We visit the tribe to find out how they came up with an unusual solution to avoid the destruction of their land, and existence.
