The first ten minutes of "Tapestry", a concept album I've been working on and feeding bits up here. I'm looking for feedback on the mix, I think the low end is off...still working this and that. Some notes:
The drums should be punchy and I'm not compressing much, so turn up your volume.
There are flubs in my playing, yes I know.
There are production mistakes. I know, I'm still composing, production will be altered.
This was done as an exercise in self-constraints, the entire thing being written using Renoise. (http://renoise.com)
If anyone wants to write lyrics for this, I'd be happy to consider a vocal track. Everything tells a story and this album is just one big song that changes over time.
As it isn't complete, it's all rights reserved at this time., but once it's done I'll drop it into CC for everyone to enjoy.

You´re combining a wide range of different moods , vibes & styles to to one large coherent epic. Another potenzial soundtrack from you .

I'd almost say almost my choice of tonal/bassy combinations :)

@starkaudio: The bell. The other one is a bit cheesy too but in a good way, I'd keep it unless it sounds wrong with the bell de-cheese-ified.

I feel bad about not listening to your music before (I don't know why I haven't?!?) I will be sure to follow your sounds from now on!

@Campadrenalin: I have plans for rhythm... it's usually the last layer to be added.

@Campadrenalin: Fair enough and I may agree with you, are you reffering to the bell-like synth that's present from the start, or the monophonic lead that comes in a bit beyond this comment?

This is the best part of this section, I think. The guitars work very well with each other.

@starkaudio: Unbelievable transition here. I know I'm just gushing all over this track, but it really is stellar all the way through.

The vocal effect through this section is really nice and fits well.

I love the mystery of this whole piece! If I had any suggestion, it would be to try a very subtle, filtered drum track plodding along underneath for parts of it, and not others. Something very rhythmic, downtempo, and stable. I'm not sure if it would make or ruin it though, but it's something to try.

The reverby high instrument is a bit cheesy, but everything else in here is (IMHO) solid, brilliant gold. I do like the interaction that the cheesy instrument has with the rest of the track, and I think it could be fixed entirely by changing the synth's settings to alter the sound.
