Here are four tunes to enjoy and check out.

Stabbingback is a Hard Rock/ Metal project, founded in 2005 by John “Gage” Sifuentes in Seattle, WA . As its main producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Gage is the only official member of Stabbingback and remains solely responsible for its direction. Stabbingback produces music which spans across a wide range of genres but mainly focuses on Hard Rock/ Metal.

In 2008, they marked their place in Seattle history by being the first band ever to release 2 debut albums simultaneously in 2 different genre’s, metal and acoustic rock. “Stabbingback” blended a classic metal style with melodically driven vocals and a powerful modern edge to form a unique sound which is strangely familiar. The acoustic music is, by it’s very nature, is less abrasive than the metal. Although not as in-your-face, the acoustic material is every bit as emotional and intense. All the songs are originally written for this style, and are not “unplugged” versions of the metal music.

Both albums were met with an enthusiastic response from their fans. They were able to support the albums by performing locally in the Seattle area as well as a couple of small tours out of state. This was unfortunately followed by a series of issues which ultimately caused a complete halt on all plans.

Fast forward to 2012… Welcome back to the war!

The Dust had finally settled, the line up changes have been exhausted and new plans are now in place. Wiser for the troubles, strengthened by fans, and prepared for chaos, it began again.

Although tough, the lessons learned during this period were invaluable. Lessons like, unless your willing to tour on a constant basis outside of your comfort zone, you cannot follow the standard practice of release an album and tour to promote. You must think outside the box if band members have families and security is of the utmost importance. “Stabbingback” is now doing just that with a whole new strategy.

    1. The band is now a "Web” band only. This is a risky move considering it means all live shows come to a stop. The trade off however, is that new material is released constantly and on a schedule. On the 1st of every month to be exact. This also enables Gage to work with musicians located anywhere in the world.

    2. The band has released "MUSIC AND DOWNLOAD". A place on the website where your can listen to all material or download all material for free. Since the primary interaction between the band and its fans is the music, they wanted the music to be as “clean” and high quality as possible so the listener can take it all in. Your able to download MP3 files completely free.

    3. To keep things interesting, the band has chosen to record 5 album’s at once. Each album with a different theme, but all album’s together form one story. This story is outlined via the "LYRICS AND STORY" page on the website. A very involved endeavor for any band. Every song is a piece of the story. A book is being written based on each song independently and as a whole. Here, you can read the pieces as they come together to reveal a much bigger picture.

    4. Every so often, there will be a guest artist join in on a song. Guitarist’s, vocalist’s, bassist’s, pianist’s, you name it. Having other artist’s join and be a part of the project is just another way the band can reach out as well as bring artists together

Gage keeps in constant contact using social media. Twitter, Facebook, the website, etc. This band may not be known by many, but with so much to offer while asking for so little, that will most likely change.

    “The music…….speaks.”
