Original Mix / Scott Langley Freedom Mix / Scott Harrington Endemic Dub / Rachel Ellektra Deep Down Dub / Will Clarke Remix) RELEASE DATE FEB 15TH, 2010....
Our next release to bring to you comes from DJ / Producer Joe Brunning entitled 'Latin Influence'. Joe's been carving up quite the reputation for his skills as a DJ and Producer. With holding down a residency at Egg (London) as well as guesting on many occasions at Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, Zap Club plus many more. His productions have been getting support from Carl Cox, Trevor Rockcliffe, Paul Mac, Ben Sims, Greg Gow, Eric Powell, Danny Tenaglia, Pete Tong - and the list goes on.
His début release for SP Trax is a fusion of Soulful / Funky / Latin House with a infectious piano groove, cheeky saxophone lick, synth stabs, latin percussion which all comes together nicely with some great chord progressions in all the right places. All the instrumentation builds up really to the breakdown, with everything coming together on the drop. To find out more about the artist please head to http://www.myspace.com/joebrunning.
On remix duties we have Scott Langley (Ministry of Sound Tour DJ / SP Trax / Phunk Solution / Stereo Whore Music) who throughout 2009 had releases out on over 40 labels. He's heavily in demand at the minute on the decks and in the studio. With a début album also out on Jesse Saunders' 'Broken Records' this year. His Freedom Mix is on a more bouncy / funky / Tribal tip and makes great use of the piano parts by chopping them up and making it more into a hook. The funky Bassline, tribal rhythms, additional vocals keeps the track rolling nicely. A track that wouldn't sound out of place on a label like Defected. To find out more about Scott please head to http://www.scottlangley.co.uk
Next up is Endemic Digital's head honcho Scott Harrington (who recently did a guest mix on Mark Knight's radio show). His Endemic imprint is going from strength-to-strength and steps forward with a remix which is at the essence of where Endemic is at stylistically. His Endemic Dub Mix is on a more bouncy Deep / Tech House tip, with tight sounds and a quirky double bass which with the synth leads gives the track a good solid hook. Definitely the one for you if your into your Tech House. To find out more about Scott and the Endemic imprint, which as quoted by Mark Knight is 'One of the scenes most consistent and underrated Deep House labels' please head to http://www.endemicdigital.co.uk
Up next we have Axis Trax's queen bee Rachel Ellektra. She's been hugely in demand over the past 18 months with over 100 releases in 2009 alone. Working with artists such as Peyton, Angie Brown, Tin Soldiers, Nightstylers, on a whole host of huge imprints such as Nervous Records NYC, Sony Music plus many more. For her Deep Down Dub mix she brings a more Swedish House Mafia-esque style production, with big Tribal grooves, sustained pads, anthemic synth parts with a synth hit which progressively builds with the filter opening, building up to the breakdown. All the parts work really well and the Trance influences really gives this edit an anthemic feel and a firm place on the package. To find out more about Rachel please head to http://www.axistrax.com
Also on remix duties we have Will Clarke, who again is one to watch in 2010. He's been on the Ibiza circuit 3 years running now with great success, playing at various clubs on the island. He's also co-founder of the Stylus Recordings imprint which is getting some great support from big name DJ's, especially Miss Devine and Kim Fai who said 'Will's defiantly one to look out for this year. He's working hard in the studio and I'm looking forward to hearing the results.."
Will's take on Latin Influence is a more stripped down Deep edit, focusing more on the piano, pad, saxophone parts and percussive grooves. If it's a more deeper vibe your after then this will tick all the right boxes.
Hope you all enjoy the release and thanks for your support.
The SP Trax team x
