@Johannes Ludwig Heinen: I've done my fair share of rubbish too :-) I think it's a healthy human reaction to be afraid of the unknown, and improvising like this is just that. As always, it's what you make of it that decides what the outcome is going to be. Turning the energy that resides within that feeling into a positive, forward moving force is what's needed to create the flow, I think.
@Spontaneous Activity: i know the situation very well, and i made a lot of somehow rubbish improvisations, because i was too scared. and im often scared1 but i always enjoy , when people let it simply flow, and the scary moments are just the salt in the soup! this one of yours has both: the flow and the salt!
@JANICE: I am proud to get such a lovely comment from you. It's a very special kind of freedom, and a bit scary too, to sit down at the instrument and just play without any preparation what so ever. Happy to hear that you like it!
fantastic improvisation! love this descending chromatics and the melo-rhythmic ideas coming up over it! really great stuf! so free! top marks!
@bluemurderjazz: Wow, what can I say? The purpose of music is really to convey some sort of emotional reaction within the listener. If that is goal is reached, I have achived everything I could hope for. Thanks!
Beautiful timing and structure takes this from reflective and poised to dynamic and proactive in a smooth and intriguing way. Thought-provoking and rich in subtlety and emotive reaction. Very nice work.
