Oliver Donath is ‘Species’. In 1997, he and his brother be-gan the ‚Silent Riot‘ project, which 10 years later became the Drum & Bass record label ‘Shadowforces’. Set up as a platform for open-minded people within the electronic music scene - particularly those favouring the darker side of DnB – the aim has always been to release different flavours of unique music by known artists and up and coming talent from around the globe. In 2012 he established the ‘Shadowdub’ imprint and monthly club event at Subland, showcasing the Dubstep side of the Shadowforces roster.Species’ DJ performances take you on a journey through his musical vision, maintaining momentum throughout, whilst telling his story and allowing the crowd an insight into his character.
