Michael Walsh is a Dj, audio / visual artist and journalist living in Los Angeles. He currently works as an Instructor, Curriculum Editor and Blog Editor at Dubspot.com. As a DJ Michael has performed worldwide at festivals (Evolve, Bang) clubs (Avalon, Rise, Stereo, HSPTL) and on the air (WERS 88.9FM). He helped launch and curate the Ritual Recordings imprint out of Boston, MA in 2001, worked as a music buyer for Satellite Records and has written articles on music production and DJing for numerous blogs and magazines. As a musician Michael fuses contemporary sounds with the sampling ethic of yesteryear and a love for analog synthesizers. While the effort is still a work in progress the sounds have started to infiltrate dancefloors and the Icarus Project aims to find publishing with forward-thinking labels that bend genres and defy current standards of sound. Resonance + Dissonance thrive in this circular momentum and lift us higher. Defy Gravity.
