It was St Georges Day, yesterday so what better way to say Happy England Day than with a chat about the English national team? But rather than talk about boring stuff like results, tactics, team selection and managers we've tried to approach the topic from a cultural perspective: the importance of the England team in English football, England football culture, why do people expect so much from England. Is it arrogance? Do we only really care about the national team when the big tournaments happen? If our clubs had to make a sacrifice for the benefit of the national team, would we be willing to make that sacrifice?
