Lil Daggers formed in Miami, Florida in the summer of 2008. The band was initially conceived as a home recording project involving a few close friends, but as their style developed they decided to start playing local shows. The band has consisted of six steady members since early 2009.
Lil Daggers’ sound draws from the band members’ mutual love for early Rock & Roll, Doo Wop, R&B, Psychedelic, Soul, Garage, and Punk Rock. Their first release, “Stragglers”, was recorded in the winter of 2008 and released as a 10” record on Severed Hand Records in early Spring 2009. Following the E.P.’s release, Lil Daggers toured the Southeast and Southwest to the SXSW Music Festival. That Summer the band played the Bamalama Fest in Alabama, as well as a number of festivals in Florida. In Autumn 2009 they toured the East Coast, and performed a few dates in the Midwest. A 7” split single was released in January 2010 with Satan’s Youth Ministers, a psychedelic garage band from Alabama.
The band next received a healthy dose of internet praise for the King Corpse 7” released in May of 2011 on Song, by Toad Records. Lil Daggers toured the Midwest and East Coast, and did a string of shows in NYC to support the 7” E.P. The band's debut album is out on vinyl on Song, by Toad Records on December 5th 2011. The album was recorded at Dungeon Studios by Ryan Ha (Capsule) and mixed by Jonathan Nuñez (Torche). Lil Daggers is currently planning a Midwest to East Coast tour in March of 2011 to support their first full length.
