Spend Some Time is the second single to be released from Synchronicity, Hatikvah’s debut longplayer for Soma. The German duo’s album has received superb reviews from the dance music press not only in the UK, but across Europe as well. Featuring a remix from Soma favourites Silicone Soul, as well as up-and-comer EinKa’s remix of previous single In The Spirit, this is definitely a release not to be missed.
Silicone Soul should need no introduction to Soma fans, or indeed Techno and House fans in general. The Glaswegian duo have been at the forefront of the scene throughout the last decade releasing four classic albums and travelling the world to spread their sound. They released their award winning fourth, self-titled, album on Soma last summer to critical acclaim and have also been enjoying success with their own Darkroom Dubs label.
EinKa, however, may be new to some. This French producer has been busily making a name for himself with releases on the Bulldozer and Teggno labels, and remixes for the likes of Claudio Masso and East Freaks. After the quirky and off-kilter remix he’s turned in here, there can be little doubt we’ll be hearing plenty more from EinKa in the future, expect big things from this man.
Spend Some Time is a deep Techno number with a laid-back vibe to it complemented by Florian’s soft, soulful, almost haunting vocals. Carrying on where they left off with In The Spirit this should firmly cement Hatikvah’s position as one to watch over the course of the coming year. Silicone Soul’s Ghostmood mix has a very different feel to it. More up-beat and melodic than the original, this oozes class in a way that only a Silicone Soul remix could and is guaranteed to move dancefloors all across the globe. Soma newcomer EinKa turns in a minimalistic, stripped back reworking of Hatikvah’s debut single In The Spirit taking it in a whole new direction whilst simultaneously losing none of the unique style of the original.
