Thursday: The numbers of civilian Palestinians killed rises to 80, as Israel steps up its military assault on Gaza. We get the latest updates on the impact on the ground. And we learn about the Israeli army’s violence against African refugees. Our guests are Joe Catron on the ground in Gaza, and Lia Tarachansky, a filmmaker based in Jaffa and the Israel-Palestine correspondent for The Real News.

And July 14th begins a week of actions in the US, the UK and Ireland focused on stopping the war against the poor. Anti-poverty and women’s rights campaigners say they are picking up the mantle left by Martin Luther King’s poor people’s campaign. The protests kick off with a pots and pans protest will be held in Washington DC on Monday. Pat Gowens whose organization the Welfare Warriors initiated the call joins us.

And for our weekly “Earth Watch”, Jane Palmer an organic farmer based in Vermont battles to get a gas pipeline off her farm.

And we continue our series “World Cup Corner with Coach Mickey.”
