SØN [SŒN]

Civil name: Manuél Biermann

While spending most of his youth on the dance floors of central-Germany he discovered the 4/4 beats that pumped through the clubs during the morning hours. A passive consumption never seemed to be enough though. Soon he craved for being the one to control overwhelming emotions and ecstatic screams. A dream was born but slowly turned into reality.

He was taught by a guru of music in a little house of culture, learned where music and culture fused into each other. Jazz, Punk, Techno, Electro, Detroit and no limit. Celebrating musical excess and expression. A quality group on the fringe of a stubborn provincial society.

Constantly searching and longing for his very own style he used to experiment with digital programs from Native Instruments. However he then swore himself to the black gold: Vinyl. Today the combination of the black plastic discs and a digital setup are building the base for his jazzy house sets.

His sets represent his wish for a melody, a vocal or a baseline which individually strengthen the feeling of freedom. However they always include a little wink.
