Each month, Local Music First promotes area bands by joining forces with vendors throughout the city to host a DC Local Music Day. Translation: Instead of listening to KD Lang cry you a river inside Starbucks, places like Dolcezza, Open City, Local 16, and other awesome retailers blast the sounds of homegrown rockers US Royalty, Modern Man, Typefighter, and others all day long in an effort to build awareness of DC’s burgeoning music scene.
To help kick-start your weekend, we’ve compiled some of our favorite tracks from DC artists and cut them into 60-second bangers to form the ultimate hour-long DC Power Hour Playlist. Crank up the volume, set your own rules, and enjoy!
