Need a gift for a gifted musician?
Upon stumbling on a Metalheadz promo tape in 1995, Slantooth got hooked on his first dose of drum & bass. That same year was also the year he became friends and comrades with the 360 BPM crew. Slantooth and 360 BPM(Zacharia, Nitusj, Maxx, Theory, Marcus Lalario) along side many others pioneered and fueled the drum & bass scene of Seattle in the mid-90's. Working at Concepts Record Store(Jon Lee)along side Zacharia, and DJ Nitusj in 1997, Slantooth was booked by Maxx and Aloe for the birth of Drum and Bass at the "Baltic Room" and what we know today as "DNB Tuesday's". 360 BPM, Slantooth, and many, many others local, national, and international graced the Baltic and, it was deemed best drum & bass night in the country in 1998-1999. It is also deemed as the longest running drum & bass night in the country, with "Onset", Seattle's longest running Saturday night running right behind it. Slantooth has played along side many "old school hard hitters" such as Goldie, Jumping Jack Frost, Dillinja & LemonD, Spirit, Usual Suspects, and many, many more. In 2002, Slantooth became the owner of Compound Records Seattle. A brother store of Compound San Francisco. The first and only all drum & bass store on the West Coast. Compound Seattle and, Compound San Francisco are now closed but, Slantooth has kept the Compound Seattle name and crew alive. Be on the lookout for Compound Seattle Recordings soon.
