It all started when I was sixteen; a well known pervious DJ named Dan P. gave up his life in the music industry to start a family. I met Dan when I moved from Toronto to Whitby in 06’; Dan attended a church the family and I discovered when we moved into our new home. Dan was willing to give up his old music passion on one cost and that’s if I kept my focus and grades high in High School.
Ever since after I was given the set of equipment I started practicing day and night with a set of old school samples and instrumentals, I had no understanding about anything about DJs’ never heard one live or never actually seen one in action via media. My life as a DJ was self-taught; it made me gain an original style that other DJs couldn’t imitate. As the days went on and as practicing went a lot deeper, I had friends and family start to come over and listen to the progress. At an early age I started getting event offers for friends house parties and family events; There was still a lot left to learn before any event but this was a great taste of what was coming up.
About a year down the road of this early music journey I was getting introduced to other DJs and bigger events such a school events, dances and more. The shows started becoming a natural high for me; it felt great just expressing my new found passion with crowds around Canada. My musical hobby changed from a past time to a paying job.
One of my huge highlights of the year was opening up for young Jeezy at the sound academy in Toronto on April 4th, it was a very life changing gig, it showed me how serious this music industry can really be. At the show there was a shooting before the main act came out to preform, it was a huge eye opener, I felt the world of music on a whole different level and its only by the grace of god why I’m still in and trucking in the music industry, there is a calling in there for me.
