Need a gift for a gifted musician?
The Sistine Criminals is a dynamic duo formed in 2005 by Aaron Burnett(tenor sax, keys, laptop) and Greg "Torch" Sgrulloni(drums, laptop, current drummer for Conspirator) in Boston at the time as one of the first Drum and Bass live bands to emerge from the city. After years of dedicated practice and study of popular electronic music, they rip down the boundaries of technology typically known to jungle/drum n’ bass/house/trap djs and producers by creating a technically stunning, energetic musical experience using live instruments. They compose a sound so rich and rounded that they redefine these genres completely. The band is notorious for their exhilarating rhythms played by drummer-extraordinaire Greg Sgrullioni (aka "Torch"). He rips through a framework of reverse-engineered live electro-acoustic dance music, which has been blogged as “high art in your face!”. In 2008, the Sistine Criminals eventually relocated to Brooklyn after graduating from Berklee College of Music to pursue success in New York City. They eventually became ingrained into Brooklyn's Burning Man community and have been performing events for various Burning Man camps such as Disorient, Thunder Gumbo, Winkel and Baltic, the infamous Danger Parties of 2010-11, The Big Up Festival, Le Poisson Rouge, and many other events and venues.
As of 2014, Greg and Aaron have yet again crossed into the area of innovation by successfully performing live Trap, Drum n Bass, Minimal Tech House, Juke, and Deep House in real time without the use of stagnant backing tracks allowing total freedom in the music. Providing utterly amazing stamina and preciseness audiences are simply amazed by the music produced live by the Sistine Criminals resulting in an impeccable presentation rendering audiences utterly speechless and unable to stop dancing. Constantly looking toward new horizons, Sistine Criminals will go down in history as the electronic band who covers the entire spectrum of EDM, always pushing the levels of creativity and originality with a strong connection to the people. Sistine Criminals will cross the boundaries of what was thought to be possible for live musicians to be able to perform with electronics and through innovation, discipline, and ingenuity they will continue to give the people what they really want "great music and great shows"
