SiriusXM host Pete Dominick will air special Storm the Hill programming throughout the week of March 17 on his live, daily call-in show Stand Up! with Pete Dominick on Indie (SiriusXM channel 104).
On Monday, from 8 to 9 a.m. ET, Dominick will host a live, one-hour panel discussion with IAVA founder and CEO Paul Rieckhoff and Storm the Hill participants about the goals of the week, their service experience and veterans’ issues they care most about at SiriusXM’s Washington, D.C., studios in front of a studio audience comprised of the participating veterans. Dominick will feature and interview veterans every day on his show throughout the week to report on their efforts to advocate for veterans’ issues and what they’ve learned and observed during their time spent on the Hill. Members of Congress will also be featured on Stand Up! to offer their perspective and discuss how they are working to help support IAVA’s initiatives. Rieckhoff will join Dominick live on the show on Friday to offer a look back at the week and review the impact of Storm the Hill.
“It’s our responsibility to take care of our veterans. Their issues and their needs must be met,” Pete Dominick said. “Veterans are not enough of a priority for Congress. Unemployment, post-traumatic stress, the backlog at the VA and the tragic epidemic of suicide are issues that need to be addressed. I think it’s something that nobody does better than Paul Rieckhoff and his team at IAVA. I’ve had the great honor of interviewing and hanging out with many of the veterans that work and are members of IAVA and they’re the best of the best. I’m really excited to be working with them on the Storm the Hill initiative to help them advocate those serving, those who have served, and even more importantly, the families of those serving and served who sacrifice often times as much.”
In conjunction with IAVA, Dominick sits down with a veteran to explore the issues that matter to them most on a weekly “Stand Up! with a Veteran” segment on his show.
