Silent Dust LP Sampler 1

Everyday Junglist 12" of the week

"Just really good music. Dont really know what else to say here to be honest, apart from that if you dont pick this 12" up then you need to get your head examined. Most should know about the trials and tribulations endured by Silent Dust in getting this project released (this 12" is a sampler for the forthcoming LP) and while the main thing is that is IS getting a release it is a crying shame that it got dropped by Soul:R as having the weight and reputation of a label such as that behind it would have certianly helped it reach a wider audience which it most definitely deserves. The two SD originals on this 12" are beautifully subtle and melacholic and while they are certainly not dancefloor fodder they are all the better for it. As said it is simply good music without the pointeless and restrictive pigeonholing that afflicts d&b so often, something to sit back, skin up and drift away to. The Calibre remix though, oh the Calibre remix. Classic sounds from the Irishman, no-one else comes anwhere close to making tunes like this. He has managed to retain the deep ambience of the original but given it a refined and sophisticated bit of oomph as well. Sublime breaks and warm bass keeps it rolling along and with his just released TEED remix to boot he seems to be back on the more stripped back melodic tip compared to the more dancefloor orientated nature of his recent Condition LP. Good news I'd say."
