From the Breakdancing days as a boy in Braintree to the flatlands of West Norfolk, Its a long way via Wolverhampton, Leicester the gigged pubs and couches of London to beats and bleeps of Manchester.
Why the name well after the damp summer and a cold winter we all crave a holiday in the UK, and its early package holidays to spain that kept me warm in the winter, influenced buy the hope of a long bright hot summer and at least 2 weeks away.
Maybe I’m a strange puzzle of damaged romantic hopes, but am still excited and hold dreams and hopes for the future, and the future of the human race. Influenced by troubles, family’s ,relationships ,night clubs and Blade Runner esque sun sets.
I like making honest music and love that feeling you get when you hear something that takes you to different places and destinations while you stand still.
Small plotted history
Coming from tiny town in Norfolk out in the sticks, moved there from breakdancing Braintree essex at 12, started writing my playing and writing music at about 19-20 collecting old toy drum machines and toy synths. Went to Art College in Wolverhampton met Tony Mason who plays bass on these tracks, ace bass.
Left Wolves back to Swaffham, Norfolk head a mess mind shrinking from reverse culture shock etc, stayed there for two years worked as a postman, got a job at Norwich council as designer, drove to Leicester went out a lot in Leicester where my mates were (bit more going on there than in Swaffham and slightly less racist ). Formed a band with Tony, and Mike Dobson Palais Glide. Moved to Leicester played lots of gigs in pubs bars and small venues supported King Creosote at the Leicester Charlotte had a girlfriend in Manchester and Liverpool Uni for 4 years. Tony and Mike moved to London played London lots in London 93ft East Hope and Anchor, Bull and Gate, Manchester Night and day, often felt like the Deli filling in a rock sandwich as we found it hard getting gigs with similar electro pop bands at that time.
DB records signers of Electric Soft Parade showed interest then didn’t. Lost my Job moved to Manchester because I couldn’t get job in London at the time, band stopped making music because of distance between all of us. Sad lonely for a bit, went out had a good time went to good Manchester clubs, Club Suicide, Contort Yourself, Chips with Everything, Electric Chair, did lots of music and writing at home on my computer it all got a bit better still wanted to do music as feel it’s part of me, Did this stuff more to come ...
