Shylock (Michiel van Beek) was born in 1985 in the small town of Nijkerk, Holland. He grew up in a musical family and from the age of 8 he started playing the horn in a philharmonic orchestra. At the age of 15 he discovered electronic music and a little later he started experimenting with vinyl and Technics turntables. At the age of 18 he left the orchestra and started fine tuning his skills as a house dj. It was during this moment in time he discovered his love for progressive house and psy-trance. Being a classicly trained musician really helps him to stand out from many, with his brilliant sense for details and harmony within musical structures.

The crowds around Amsterdam show their respect for his skills and performance on stage and where ever he lays on his music, the dancefloors are trashed and left in awe...

After gigs throughout the Netherlands and a monthly residency in the Amsterdam area, he signed his first production with the mighty German label Iono Records (Terrestrial, a collab with C-Jay). Now, new originals and remixes are coming on a regular bases, so be sure to check the site for new stuff!
