Born in Hungary, Shock grew up listening to every type of music he could take their hands on. In 1995, one of his friends took him to High Life Galaxy, Budapest. This was Shock’s first meet with House Music. That was the moment, when he was fallen in love with this kind of electronic music. While he was listening to the sets of the local resident, he started to recognize the build up of the tracks, and DJ mixes. That time he already used a real oldie, Fast Tracker II, so right after he got his first influences on House and Techno, he started to create his own house tracks. Shock’s most mind-forming favorites was Nalin&Kane, Olav Basoski and Mac Zimms that time, but he also got some inspiration from the tracks of Da Hool and Green Velvet.
He spent the next two years with learning how to make better and better house tracks, and also learnt the secrets of DJ-ing on vinyl with the great help of the starter of his interest in electronic music, the resident DJ of High Life Galaxy. After a while he turned from house to a more melodic way, created some trance tracks and remixes, and started to appear in the DJ Booth of small clubs. He was only 16 this time, and 2 years later, in the year of‘99, he did his first all night long set @ Powerhorse D.C., Hungary.
That night was the first big turn on his DJ carreer, after that night, there was no week without a minimum of 2 or 3 acts, so to 2004, he ran through the Hungarian club scene, including months in E-klub, one of the largest clubs of Budapest and also appeared on the biggest Hungarian festivals such as Budapest Parade, and Sziget Fest.
In the year of 2005 he totally reshaped his musical style, and gone in the background to create his new, unique musical line as a producer. Got lots of inspiration from Sasha, John Digweed, and Danny Tenaglia. The musically renewed Shock Osugi debuted in 2007, with some progressive tunes, and a year after he started to work together with Jasmine Joplin, and created the the base tunes and vocals of Deeper, and Trapped.
Now Shock’s musical balance is somewhere between tech- and progressive house, flavored with the finest elements of classic house & trance, so ordering his tracks under any musical niche is a bit hard. The best to call his tracks simply overground.
