First released in Spring 2011, Poison Pro and Miusha's "Alien" now returns with the third installment of its quadrilogy. Following on from recent remixes from Kobana and Fiord, a fresh set of remixes now breathe further life into a track that has seen support from of a raft of DJs including: Ad Brown, Alexey Sonar, Lank and Tom Fall in a variety of its different remix incarnations.
Shingo Nakamura has been a regular contributor to Proton and is the label's best-selling Japanese artist. Reflecting the name of his hometown, Shingo released an artist album to widespread critical acclaim in 2011 on Silk Digital, entitled "Sapporo", including a remix contest with Kazusa. His remix is a typically high quality, progressive offering with chunky bass and beats, complementing the melodically haunting vocals layered above.
Tvardovsky has been a whirlwind of productivity since 2010 with successes on Moonbeam, Particles, Per-vurt and Lowbit. As host of the "Secret Reality" radio show, owner of the "Stereo Paradise" record label and the best-selling Ukrainian artist on Proton, Tvardovsky's remix adds a new twist to the original with its double-tracked and octave pitched vocal treatment. This approach heightens the haunting nature of the vocals combined with some subtle instrumentation, but with enough groove and drive to provide a dynamic rhythmic energy.
Proton newcomer Mot!v, makes his debut with a distinctive trip-hop styled electronica offering. Having tried his hand at remixing Radiohead and production of original works (which can be found on his Soundcloud page), his approach to "Alien" is full of superb organic sounds in a shuffling, groove-laden rhythmic setting. Intricate piano interplays with a sliding double bass to create something that ties in well with the living, breathing Miusha vocals, producing something beyond the standard dance music structure.
