Hello everyone. I'm Kevin, but I produce under the name Shift Gorden. I've been producing house style tracks for 15 years or so, and enjoy doing so.
I have just started producing using Ableton Live Suite 8 and love the flexibility the software provides. All my tracks (so far) just use the awesome tools Ableton provides, no third party plug-ins.
If you would like a high quality recording of my tracks let me know! I'd be more than happy to send it your way.
Thanks for stopping by. Feedback helps us grow as artists so all comments will be graciously and thankfully returned.
You got a great electro groove going on here, mate.
The way you add little tweaks and effects to the beat here is really cool. Nice production skills.
Love that twangy bass - sounds great. What synth is that?
@soulfood: Right on - love the new plays on old school rave. Wicked mate
Very tasty, mate!
That's a really nice track, mate - solid production. Well done, dude.
I really like how this emerges...the background tweeks are awesome too
Great sounding tight beat. mate.
@Extacee: Heh heh! Yeah - any part where the girls start shaking their asses wins! I need more parts like that ;)
@ShiftGorden: I think all of my levels were out of wack - the beat was far too dominant. The synths are more prevalent now.
@ShiftGorden: Hows about this? I nice "reversed" pad - pretty interesting I think ;)
@RoughCut: Na - I like the naturalness of it - it certainly adds to the track! I like this track a lot, mate.
@wemakedancemusic: I hear you. That's something that I've always "struggled" with. Personally, I like it when tracks transition from one groove to another - perhaps that's just my own style. However, I do have another moniker that I'm going to release more traditional single-groove focused tracks under. Thanks for the feedback, my friend. I'll check your track out when I get back home,
@Cmoretrix: ;) I was thinking of perhaps remixing this track, but making it more of a bass driven repetitive track. Thanks for all of your comments, mate. There are some solid ideas that I can work with there.
@Cmoretrix: I DO like the bass. Operator worked well for me here. I really liked the build behind the rest of the arrangement.
@seannash: Admittedly, this IS the point in the song where everything comes together nicely. I'm going to work on some edits.
@Cmoretrix: Great idea. I'll definitely try that one. The bitcrush sound is extremely metallic - a bit of pad warmth should help things along
@Cmoretrix: Hmmm, I'll take another listen. Maybe I stretch things out for too long. Perhaps a couple of crafty edits will help.
@Cmoretrix: Thanks, mate - I did a lot of messing around with the new Latin kit and groove functionality ;)
Yeah - this revision is great, mate. Nice air adding. Keep on keeping on, mate :) Love it!
@Cmoretrix: That's it - very nice, mate. It's like a knife :) Fantastico!
Great track, Cmore - that beat is a great way to kick things off and you keep changing things up throughout to keep the ears totally interested. I like it a lot, mate. Great job.
This comes back in really well, mate. Love it.
Love the reverb - nice space here, mate
Oooh, nice. Pumping beat
Yeah! Nice distorted gating synths - I wonder if you could squeeze a little more high frequency out of them perhaps? Make them sear through the air a little more. Just an idea :)
Dude, this beat is absolutely fierce. Love the reverb/gating on the snare - nice level mate
Very nice outro - great wind down. Overall, that's seriously grooving track. Awesome, mate.
Oooh, that is magical - what is that exactly? Sounds like a percussive talk box synth. Way cool, man
That reversed sounding synth does a good job of searing through the air.
Love the way this comes back in - variation in beat is unexpected, but in a good way. Beat sounds very organic, nice groove and sound selection
Seriously interesting harmonies - the reverbed block sounds are great, and provide some rich ambience to the main riff
Love this soundscape - lot's going on, but all sitting together nicely
Great track, brother! Man, your tracks are always so crisp sounding - you do a great job of creating and mastering. Awesome job, man.
Magic change-up, mate!
Wow, this brings back some memories - for some reason it reminds me of The Shamen from back in the day. Nice mellow feel, with a great beat in the background. Crystal!
Really nice bassline, mate. I like how it bounces around.
Good track, mate - that's a great production. Good use of stereo - all sounds really natural. :)
Well recorded! The acoustic guitar sounds nice and bright. Good job of capturing the dynamics!
Mate, you need to hurry up and finish this track already. You got some great energy going here - this really is a banging tune. I like the harmonic ending here, too. Very well done, man.
