Music tracks from the upcoming action-RPG Akaneiro. Commentary from the composer, Kian How, on a few of the tracks:
The Hunter’s Theme (formerly Maintheme): This is the main theme, also known as the title track or main menu music. It serves as an introductory piece highlighting the game's visual theme, preparing players sonically of what is to come prior to clicking the play button. This piece is very much influenced by traditional japanese music, with the arrangement driven primarily by traditional japanese elements with a slight pinch of western cinematic flavoring to appeal to our non-japanese audiences.
The Rotten Temple (formerly Calm): This is one of the tracks being used in the game's levels, a stylistic constrast from the other 2 with a shift toward an experimental blend of ambient/avant garde/ethnic music, whilst maintaning a distinct japanese flavor to uphold its relevance and cohesion to the game's central theme.
Treading The Path (formerly Dark): This piece is a tribute to the tantalizing beauty of Japanese art and culture, an inspiration and influence this game heavily drew from. I kept this piece as authentically Japanese as I could by strictly using Japanese instruments, and to my best ability, ahdering to it's traditional compositional practices. This piece can be heard early in the game where players traverse and explore what was once a serene garden and now corrupted by forces of evil
