There’s words that you can normally link to the name SEXISTALK, amongst them: fun, ecclecticism and irreverence. Influenced by French House, Electro, Fidget, Dutch House, Maximal, Breaks, Disco, Rock, Hiphop and Heavy Metal, the project formed by Giancarlo Ranieri and Pedro Melo tries to fulfill one unique mission: making the dancefloor go crazy from beginning to end.
Armed with MIDI controllers and synths, SEXISTALK’s live act is filled with crazy edits, mashups and live remixes, as well as their own productions. Cowbells, a go-gos, heavy, dirty basslines and vocoders are the most characteristic elements of the duo’s sound. Their first EP “Kiss My Golden Stuff” (MAXIMIZE Recs. / Transmit Music 2008), gave them features in websites like trackitdown.net, where the song “Fuckable” stayed weeks in the top 50 house tracks chart. Their remixes for songs like Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown” or Slayer’s “Raining Blood” also gave SEXISTALK good visibility in blogs from all around the world, in some occasions comparing the duo to artists like Justice, MSTRKRFT and SOULWAX. The mighty Slayer remix was done for the “Ugly Edits vol. 2” (2009) album, compiled by Database featuring some of the best brazilian e-producers such as The Twelves, Copacabana Club, Edu K, Killer On The Dancefloor among others. Months later SEXISTALK went on to be nominated as one of the best electronic projects of 2009 by the brazilian portal Fiberonline.
The duo has already played in some of the best renowned clubs in Brazil, such as Cinco Club, Deputamadre, Music Hall, Roxy, dDuck, Hard Rock Café and Label Club in Belo Horizonte, D.Edge, Clube Glória, Fun House and Vegas in São Paulo, Circuit Club in Florianópolis, Beco 203 in Porto Alegre and Café Muzik in Juiz de Fora. They’ve also shared stage with international artists such as SOULWAX / 2many DJs (Belgium), MixHell (Brazil), DJ Zegon (N.A.S.A. / USA-Brazil), Yuksek (France), Joachim Garraud (France), Vive La Fete (Belgium), The Toxic Avenger (France), Treasure Fingers (USA), DJ King (Brazil), Renato Cohen (Brazil), Bruno Belluomini (Brazil), Copacabana Club (Brazil), Mau Mau (Brazil), The Twelves (Brazil), DJ King (Brazil), Database (Brazil), Larry Tee (USA), Adam K (Canada), Kevin Barnett (USA), Lovefoxxx (CSS - Brazil), Gorky (Bonde do Role - Brazil), Killer on The Dancefloor (Brazil), Sany Pitbull (Brazil), Nedu Lopes (Brazil) and Chernobyl (Brazil) among others.
At the moment, SEXISTALK is resident of the “CREW” party, that happens in the clubs Glória and D.Edge, two of the best clubs of São Paulo’s nightlife. They’re also residents of PUSH!, itinerant party that’s taken place in clubs such as Deputamadre and Cinco Club.
