great introduction for the vocals. coming in on the nah mate... like mid-conversation immediately grabs my attention. i expect things from you like dropping those screams to back up and emphasize the vocal and maintain the interest of the listener. doesn't mean its not a pro move. and the break on survive... yeah. genius. i am just picking this one part of the track to pick on because i could do this with any given part of the song and i'm not going to write an essay. or at least not one any longer than exactly this

Proper arrangement, like the lyrics actually (they need to be a bit dirty sound wise so it quite fits the bill). The track has a 'classic feel' and uses all the acid ingrediments very well. Need to draw a smiley now :-)

- sevenseven on July 31, 2009 21:47

-
@sevenseven: np at all man - anything with a hard kick and a 303 is a pleasure for me to listen to :) - yeh maybe do bring it up, though I bet you the mystique of it wont be as good (ie it will be more identifiable) - maybe drown it in tonnes of reverb eheh

i know this break is a little too long but i just wanted it to emphasise the three parts to this song... the first part the guy is angry and bitter the break is when he is able to sit and really think thngs through and the last part is when he realises he is alone and needs to hold on to this girl! life story anyone?

Maybe you should find some kind of musical gimmick to emphasize on the "chorus" throughout the song. Something not too spiky but something that would mark it as ,well :the chorus. Only saying this because I sense you might have a hit here :-)
- sevenseven on July 09, 2009 08:58
@Misterblue: Hi Mate , thanks for taking the time to listen to my track and your comments are great, its all new to me this vocal stuff , have a listen to my pop stuff at this link if you want gimmicks lol ..... subject

this track kicks ass! i love the bouncyness of the bass... my one comment would be that because of the big break in the middle - this ending seems a little drawn out and maybe using the bass line rather than the piano to take out the track a little quicker might be good. but maybe not cos it seems you use the parts of the song to tell a story which is awesome.
- sevenseven on September 02, 2009 17:07
@Mind's Eye Robot: hi mate thanks again for the comments, i am working on a few tweaks and may actually shorten the break a little, i hope to have an update soon and ill let you know when its up , thanks again man

Awesome track. Absolutely inspired and the best thing I've heard on Soundcloud. Kinda The Streets meets Groove Armada. Love the haunting piano riff. Respect!!!

@Dannymorr:cheers danny, ive been bouncing round the studio all morning, i sidechained the bass slightly like you advised on my last track it has helped give it a bit of a pump i think
- Danny Morr on July 01, 2009 13:40

@Negredo: hi negredo thanks for listening to the track, i wanted the acid to kind of come out of the blue for impact especially if it was in a club it could be a great build up and then drops to acid but i do agree with some comments that this part comes in a little too abrubtly i will be working on this today , thanks again
-
@sevenseven: i get what you are saying about dropping the acid hard - go for it - i bet it would make the floor bounce

Bass is out of key with the acid. Raise the bassline one semitone and it'll sound a lot better.

more hats needed perhaps in 1/32 if you know what i mean, it'll make it seem as though its moving faster
-
@Dannymorr: i agree
- Mark-Anthony (N.Ireland) on July 03, 2009 22:46
@defbeat: Totally agree - hats with a little more openness to build it to the climax it deserves or even a ride cymbal - I'd try both to see what it sounds like
