Sertac Sahin’s musical history began in Istanbul, Turkey, where he acquired his formal training at the Istanbul Conservatory of Music. During his studies, he became restless with classical music, and his mind started to gravitate toward the elements of electronic music. Having had formal training in music gave him the opportunity to collaborate in the production studio with fellow Turkish DJ’s, Ahmet Sendil, Murat Uncuoglu and U.F.U.K. This experience helped him to enter the club scene in Istanbul, where he played some of the most exclusive night clubs in Turkey at the time, as well as hosted a radio show, FG.
Fast forward to his arrival to The United States, in 2009, where his true success has flourished ever since. As an electronic DJ and producer, living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been quite challenging. However, his unique sound, integrating various genres of house music with his formal musical training, has propelled him to attain residency at several quality locations in the city. Most noteworthy is his Thursday night gig with fellow DJ Casey Cloonan at Elixir Ultralounge, which has been rapidly gaining popularity for the last year. In short, people have begun to be aware of the quality Sertac possesses.
At the same time, his production has greatly excelled. Since 2009, he has been producing original tracks and remixing for Sam Young at NodFactor Records in London as well as Dan Stark (Cleveland) at Beatcode Records (London). His original tracks include the melodic arrangements of “Heart Attack”, “Jellyfish”, and “Deep Key”. He has also remixed Supafly Inc.’s “Radar” and Sam Young’s “New York City Lights”, “Yamo”, and “Don’t Stop”.
HIs upcoming projects are his original track “Feel the Drums” (NodFactor) and remix of Vanilla Ace’s “Get it On” (Blockhead Records, CA-based).
