This weeks free single 'Laura Palmer is Dead' comes from Oxford types Poledo and is 3 minutes 42 of glorious indie rock. If it's not the Guided By Voices'esque licks that hook you in, the vocal melodies on the chorus are even more infectious. For the last couple of weeks, I have been known to randomly come out with "Laura Palmer is deaaaaaaad" much to the bemusement of friends and parents. This is of course because they've never heard Poledo and they've never seen Twin Peaks. If you get the reference give yourself a little pat on the back, you're about 60% cooler than me (I fell asleep during the pilot episode).

It would be blasphemous to write this post without mentioning the label Poledo is releasing his full EP with. Some of our favourite bands (Playlounge, Joanna Gruesome, Yrrs) have joined together to start Reeks of Effort records and what better way to announce your arrival to the world than putting out five great releases all at once. I strongly suggest you head here to listen/pick them up.

As always we got our artist friend Megan Bell to do us a little illustration. Unfortunately something got lost in translation between me, Rich and her. So we've ended up with more of a response piece, but it's great as always. You can see it in full on the Bandcamp, where you can also pick up the one physical pizza box copy of this release at 1pm.
