From an early age music has been an integral part of the up-and-coming DJ/Producer, Sensualise, born Roger Ye’s life. Born in Melbourne, Australia, he studied Classical Music as a child, leading to his ability to play multiple instruments including the violin, piano and guitar. With a broad taste in music, his influences include anything from Contemporary, Heavy Metal and Jazz, to Techno, House and Trance.
It was at the age of 13, when Sensualise fell in love with electronic music, after hearing the Hard Trance classic, “Exploration of Space” by Cosmic Gate, for the first time. After two years of listening to various styles of electronic music, a second hand pair of Stanton vinyl turntables were bought for his birthday, and not long after that, he began experimenting with various Digital Audio Workstations to produce his own music.
As a producer, Sensualise draws on all his influences and inspirations to create his music, which has seen him produce tracks ranging from Hardstyle, House, and Hip Hop, to experimental Musique concrète. Trance, however, has been the main focus and passion for Sensualise throughout his producing years, with recent productions being supported by world renowned artists and DJs including “W&W” and “MaRLo”, being played on their respective radio shows.
Sensualise’s production work complements his DJing very well, with his sets often featuring many of his own edits, mashups, remixes or original tracks, giving his sets his own distinct sound. Not only that, but his track selection, ability to read the crowd and creative mixing has brought him to Melbourne’s best nightclubs; Trak Live Lounge Bar, Room680, Sorry Grandma! and Fusion Nightclub, just to name a few.
With 2012 seeing Sensualise gain tremendous momentum as a DJ and as a producer, the future is definitely looking bright!
