Self Evident's music has been described as sparse but intense, with a dynamic range of influences. Unconventional ideas are at the heart of his compositions. At times prolific, Self Evident is always searching for the perfect juxtaposition of progressive hybridized dance music & raw accessible songs that transcend the cultures that inspire him.

An avid collector of Grime, Dancehall, proto-Jungle, southern Rap + underground vocal anthems; Self Evident Dj sets are a whirlwind of unreleased originals + remixes peppered with favourites from his growing collection.

Over the last few years he has shared the bill with Skream, Bassnectar, Mark Pritchard, Addison Groove, Dbridge, Loxy, Eprom, Gaslamp Killer, Distance, A Tribe Called Red, Mike Q, The Bug, Digital, Salva, Clicks &Whistles, Starkey, Girl Unit, Bok Bok, Kingdom, Silkie & Dabrye.

In 2012 he released his underground classic “Numba One Stunna” on Tenpin records (Later this year Numba One Stunna will be re-released on Dipped Recordings with two remixes and a video). In the same year he was featured on a vinyl release by Los Angeles based label Innovative Leisure. This vinyl compilation included tracks by Machinedrum, Ghosts On Tape & Sweatson Klank.

Last year he released his first album on NYC based label South Fork Sound. This July he self-released his second album HISS and it went to number one on Juno Download's Grime charts in one week. It is also charting well in the Bass category and in the overall album charts.
