Dave Dri is the founder of live progressive tech act Segue and guest performer in live drum'n'bass act Silent Shadow. Dri has previously been the manager of Statler & Waldorf, member of live acts including guest keyboards with D-KO and touring and writing with Superfluid, which saw medium rotation on JJJ radio for the first single "Knucklebusters" on Superfluid's debut album on Creative Vibes records. With a fixation for Eastern European sounds leading to sampling Balkan folk songs on Superfluid's "Lodoss", featured both on the album "Project Vectrex" and the firth edition of Creative Vibes' iconic "Evolutionary Vibes" compilation, Dave headed off to tour Eastern Europe in 2004, becoming in the process the first Australia to talk his way into a live set at Serbia's acclaimed Exit Fest.
Returning with a renewed passion for live performance, Dave founded Segue with Statler & Waldorf's co-producer Leo Hede, and quickly invited themselves back onstage around Brisbane, Australia. Breaking keyboards and mashing samplers in the process, the act established itself with an exciting live performance style with a "more is more" rebellion to the increasingly minimalist laptop live act performers. Signing their first releases to Smash Bang Records, Segue flew to Melbourne with collaborator and visualist VJ Jaymis, to perform what was the first of many fully synchronised audio/visual live shows. Gaining recognition for the live performances of a bootleg remix of Chemical Brothers "Electroinc Battle Weapon 9", featured heavily on taste-making music sites including Palms Out Sounds, Segue was booked to rock the iconic Boiler Room stage of Australia's largest touring festival, the Big Day Out in 2008. Where Statler & Waldorf, with Dri on their mix, had played the same stage as Chemical Brothers only years before, now Segue returned to take another twist to fill the stage, with the addition of veteran percussionist and producer Kris-Ko on drums.
In 2009, Segue are focusing on a new live set for a return to Europe mid-year, and firing through a raft of remixes for Smash Bang Records and Dektek Records. For more information and updates check the following links:

Another woot-worthy moment.
Love this mix so much. Also, a great quality recording mate!
Absolutely awesome!
Shoulder. Right knee. Foot. Actually both feet. I felt the love for this tune in various places.
Kris just needs some more spare time to keep pumping out these bombs!
I have both hands in the air! Woot! Clearly im typing with my feet. Great stuff!
What a monster. Great work Peet!
Something to add to my playlist and stop wearing out St Germain :) Great stuff Alex. Keen to hear you splashing across more keys on tracks like this! Nice subliminal groove mate.
This bit reminds me of that De La Soul sample in "Say No Go" :P
Hahaha lovely! You guys are on fire.
This is ridiculously good mate. The break served you well. Smash!
Love this.
As expected, this is dope. Mix is huge Matt!
Deep, great stereo field, spacey... awesome : )
Great track guys. It's not a case of saying "I remember when they were called Hyperion!" as much as "I remember when their names were Jim and Max". Soon I'll have to start calling you guys "Ed n Tom" :P
All kinds of awesome.
Nice and chunky on this one mate! After weeks of headphones on the ski fields its nice to hear something on the studio speakers again. What's your plans for this? I can see this going in a definite decent release direction. Top and tail for DJ's, fine tune that build and drop and you've got a monster. Update and re-upload! Get to it : ) Love it.
The difference those Tane sessions have made on this mix is incredible! Have to stop typing, hands need to be in the air...
..and a gentle tremelo says goodbye. Lovely.
My crate on Beatport. It wants : )
No worries. It's great to finally get to hear some of your tunes! Clean, crisp and big!
Dirty synth filter drops... if i had a dollar for every time i've dropped a refrain like this at a gig... id be able to fix my broken Cutoff knobs :P
The pre-drop stab here is great. A good trick for carrying energy from a big drop like this is something to carry over for a few bars. Something Trentemoller pushed a lot by substituting delays on a crash cymbal with white noise bursts. Just something else to carry on for a bit to carry the energy so its not like "break, drop, same groove bit again".
The universe loves a good hats pitch down :)
Nice groove. This is coming along nicely :) Listening in cans now, will bang it in the studio tomorrow. What are plans for this one?
Id say just watch the different Reverb and Delay settings used. The backing riff that sounds like an FM synth with the shallow verb is creating a different "space" to the rest of the track in contrast to the "flat and forward" spatial position of the lead wobble riff. Same again when the modulation noisy synth drops. The verb and delay settings on the actual synths themselves are often the culprit there, which is where a good Aux routing rather than onboard stuff can tighten it all.
Id check the shelving off all those riffs with a frequency analyser too. Snare and Hats are rather obscured to my ears. Apart from that, it would sound pretty huge on a PA. Nice one Chris!
I love the bass string sound in here, and the finger slide. You pulled the bass out again for this? : )
After all the years i STILL expect to hear you shouting over the mic sitting at the drum kit at this drop. You should upload a live version too :)
Even mnml tech loves the siren :P
Layers and layers. Lovely work.
Bouncy detroit goodness!!!
Nice sub and nice snarling top end. Wrow!
Sounds so nice and clean through these peak bits. Nice synths :)
