The secretsundaze singles label has already won many fans with their first two releases from Brawther and most recently Two Armadillos, confirming that one of the world's most famous Sunday parrties isn't just a great event but a serious label to boot.
For the third release they present ‘Shelter’ by UK based Ethyl and Flori. The two friends met while studying music technology in Birmingham and have been inseparable ever since, much to their respective girlfriends’ distress, but a bonus for their music fans! Previously releasing on Quintessentials, Freerange and Tsuba the pair have received praise for their mature sound that belies their tender years.
Ethyl and Flori’s original version of ‘Shelter’ is not unlike one of Omar S' more melodic outings with its vintage drum machine groove, offset with a hooky melody played on sweeping strings and keys. Listen to it a few times and see how long it takes before you’re humming along! ‘Shelter’ has a charm and warmth that wraps around the listener, while never sounding twee, as its deep sub bass is ever present.
On the flip side they draft in long-time secretsundaze hero and one of the principle lights of Detroit techno; none other than Rolando. As a past member of Underground Resistance, his long and successful career spans nearly 20 years, leading up to recent productions on the likes of Delsin and Ostgut Ton. Rolando's remix takes ‘Shelter’ on a snaking, tracky, percussive, aquatic techno journey that is constantly building and teasing yet never boiling over, leaving the listener with a feeling of tension throughout. Syncopated percussion, claps and swelling pads all work their magic before the original’s main line rears its head.
While Ethyl and Flori’s original version is perfect for those special moments, Rolando’s remix gives DJs an alternative that’s not only a peak-time set-builder, but will also work on those 4am dancefloors, making this is another killer package from the secretsundaze camp.

@Adam Solomon: alright adam, there was a manufacturing issue so the release date was pushed back until we could get it repressed. it was supposed to be taken down from all digital stores also but in error it was left up on beatport. the digital release date is imminent so it will be back up there shortly.
