The Dunes formed late 2010 in Adelaide, Australia.
Stacie is from Texas. Matt is from Adelaide.
They played their first ever gig in early April 2011 and have been playing solid ever since - winning over audiences with their atmospheric soundscapes and songs evoking the dreaminess of Mazzy Star and the dusty haze of Calexico.
The Dunes released their debut single in July 2011. 'Going Under' is the A-side and 'Dress to Kill' is the B-side.
The duo played around Adelaide for about a year and then invited bassist Adam Vanderwerf (Ride Into the Sun) and drummer Dan Fernie-Harper (Briars) to join and expand the sound.
An EP entitled 'Between Midnight and Dawn' showcasing The Dunes as a four-piece band was released in September 2012 and is available for download at Bandcamp.
A new EP will be recorded in early April 2013 and released in July. Vist the band's Facebook for more frequent updates.
