About

Scott McKay aka Scott Theory's fascination with electronic music, started at the age of 12, when he first set his ears on some early rave music. This fascination soon turned into an infatuation by the time he turned 14, and attended his first rave. After seeing the DJs that night in action, he convinced his parents to purchase him his first set of belt drive decks.

Over the years he has dabbled in all sorts of different music, taking in - rave, breakbeat, jungle/dnb and even the extreme sounds of gabba music. A visit to the T in the Park festival in 1999 however, brought forth the sounds of techno, witnessing Jeff Mills, Luke Slater and Richie Hawtin all play after each other. From then on techno was the only thing in his bag. These days his musical taste is extremely varied and his sets can include house, disco, italo disco, funk, techno, electro and even the odd rave or 80s track for good measure. He just likes to play music that will start(or finish)a party.

2006 also seen Scott win I-DJ magazine's Raw Talent competition and then more recently, was featured in DJ Mag's Pic n Mix section as well as being a runner up in a Global mix competition by renowned techno DJ Dave Clarke, to play at the Extrema outdoor festival in Holland.

Scott has also had the privilege of playing along DJs and acts like - Robert Hood, Surgeon, Regis, James Ruskin, Dexter and Radioactive Man(to name a few) He's also had the pleasure of playing at nights and festivals like - Monox, Substance, Inner City Acid, Slabs of the Tabernacle and Rockness.
