About

Sangers & Ra are the premier “Big Bass” music DJ/production duo out of Brisbane, Australia who officially came together in late 2009. The cornerstone of the recent east coast breakbeat revival in Australia, the pair have exploded onto the international dance music scene releasing a Top 10 Beatport dancefloor anthem as their debut release; garnering the support of international icons like the Plump DJs, the Dub Pistols, Lady Waks, NAPT, Peo De Pitte and Marten H∅rger; and have taken club and festival bookings all across the globe in countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France, UK and Austria.

Since joining forces, the guys have been hard at work producing dancefloor bangers in the studio as well as developing their "Dex n Fx^2" DJ setup for the clubs. Their debut EP release, "Nasty", on Westway Records, featuring MC SirReal of Freestylers fame, rocketed to #9 on the Beatport Breaks charts in September and was backed by a remix release of the Dogtown Clash's "Hole In The Head" on Westway Records. Both tracks have already garnered impressive feedback and reviews from Tillate, EQ Magazine and the Night Times (Birmingham & Midlands) to name but just a few.

Their much famed remix of Dub Pistols' "Ganja" on Sunday Best Recordings will soon be released as part of the Dub Pistols' "ReHash" Album and will be followed by a bouncy remix of N'FA's (1200 Techniques) new single "We March On" later this year.

Their official releases and bootlegs have been played the world over, from Russia to London, and Germany to France by the likes of the Stanton Warriors, Lady Waks, Westbam, Adsorb, Plaza de Funk, Funkanomics, Maelstrom, Peo De Pitte and many more; and have aired on Radio Record (Russia), Zip FM (Lithuania), Triple J (Australia-wide), RTR FM (Perth) and Radio Metro (Gold Coast). Their notoriety has reached far and wide across the globe; such that they were recently invited to provide the “Breakbeat Top 10 Tunes” list for dance music bible, DJMag. One such bootleg was a crafty 2010 rework of the funky breaks classic “Plump Yer Butt” by the Plump DJs. The track caught the attention of the original artists themselves and was given the official Plump endorsement. As a result, the track will be available for exclusive free download from inthemix.com.au later this year.
