Sam I started playing guitar at 16. I gigged from 17 to about 25. At 25 I found a Tascam 4 track cassette tape recorder. The kind you put a sticker on the cassette window so all tracks would run in the same direction. I bought a drum drop cassette and wrote a few songs around drum drops. This was my introduction to home recording and I was immediately addicted. I always wanted to write and record my stuff...I could do that now even though it wasn't for Atlantic Records and millions of dollars. ;) My next step was the Roland digital series, 880, 1880, and 2480...great machines. But after about ten years I realized a computer was going to make recording easier. All I had to do was understand computers a bit. Now I use a Mac and a PC. I record with analog hardware and virtual plug ins. Sometimes I use real amplifiers and sometimes plug in models. Everything goes thru quality mic preamps first. The software available is incredible. So as a hobbyist I can write and record all day with no limits.... Imagine that? I graduated from San Francisco's Audio Institute as well as minor in music. Thanks for stopping by.
