Godskitchen & GlobalGathering favourite Russell G is one of the freshest up and coming talents in the electronic scene right now. Since breaking into the scene Russell has played for some of the biggest club brands in the world, from Godskitchen to The Gallery.
Russell’s big breakthrough came from the mighty Godskitchen, for whom he has been a regular player for over the past couple of years, both in the UK and internationally, including playing the midnight set for Godskitchen in Sweden on NYE 2008, 2010 saw Russell make his debut at Godskitchen’s Global Gathering on their flagship Boombox stage alongside illuminaries including Armin Van Buuren, Sasha & Eric Prydz.
Russell's increasing popularity has seen him become a main room regular at Godskitchen’s events in Birmingham in 2011 where among other nights he represented Sander Van Doorn’s ‘Dusk Til Doorn’ brand.
Apart from gracing the decks at many other nights on British shores, such as The Gallery @ Ministry Of Sound, Russell is also a regular in Europe and Asia where he has performed to sold out venues over the past 2 NYE’s.
It’s not just the DJ’ing that has seen Russell earn acclaim. Russell has been behind many underground anthems over the past couple of years. His eclectic style has been him appear on a wide range of labels, from Armada, Baroque, Black Hole, In Charge & Spinnin. His tracks are regularly featured in the tracklists of DJ’s including Marco V, Sander Van Doorn, Gareth Emery, Paul Oakenfold and more.
Russell's productions and DJ sets have also been heard on various media outlets including Radio 1, Galaxy & Kiss FM whereas Russell has also featured on the "15 mins" segment on DJ Tiesto's Clublife Radio show.
2010 saw Russell’s rise continue after becoming a regular fixture in the Beatport charts with smashes including ‘The Real Life’ on Spinnin Records, and 2011 has saw him continue in the same vain with tracks including ‘Rush’, ‘Free For All’ and two of this years biggest remixes, firstly on the Marco V classic ‘Unprepared’ and one of the biggest “unofficial” remixes of the year ‘Café Del Mar’ by Energy 52 which he did with fellow Godskitchen resident Paul Thomas, the remix has been downloaded globally by over 8000 people.
The end of the 2011 sees Russell collaborate with none other than Marco V with ‘Kalevala’, a genre defining club banger that will hit Beatport and other download portals on December 12th.
