Where the freeway ends north of St. Johns, a great number of Trees stand bent and leaning, as if tenuously warning Weary Travelers of the colder northern expanses of the State of Michigan. They bear the countenance of Those obviously wounded by Adversity. Still they poise like Weathered Monuments to Hope and Self-Evident Proof of Persistence's strength. These Battered Living exert their silent admonition to forge Onward though Life is broken and awash in Futility. Their existence is remarkably odd and yet uncomfortably familiar and troubling. This album is dedicated to Those of us that are similiarly bent and wounded.
